It seems like liking Metallica, and liking SOAD come hand in hand, but I can't stand any of Metallica's shit.

Nah, they are quite different. Especially on vocals. People who love James Hetfield's voice have been know to absolutely despise Serj's.

I disagree.

I like SOME of System of a Down's stuff.

And I like a small handful of Metallica's work.

I know more of Soad's work, though, so I can speak more for that aspect.

Anyway...

I respect Metallica as a band... I just don't necessarily like all of their music.

And since they covered Misfits, I've respected them a little less.

I don't think they should have, to be quite honest.

I hate Metallica too... but only because every little kid hear that and thinks that they are the best band in the world, then they realize better music is ouy there.

Ok, I've just now gotten around to hearing Steal this album! and have discovered one of their best songs I believe, Innervision. Absolutely love the ominous guitars.

All of the little kids I hear about these days watch High School Musical and listen to Jonas Brothers and Hannah Montana.
