I like them a lot. At least i did. Still like them just not enough to listen to them reguarly. Serj's record label has some pretty good bands on it tho. Like Fair To Midland.

I've always enjoyed their music. I do find I don't really seek it out though, just enjoy it when it comes along. Plus the never really had a great album, above average to very good consistently but never that end to end classic.
I would agree with the sentiment that there is a surprisingly small contingent of SOAD fans here.

Chop Suey is one of the finest metal tracks in years. Love it. Let's have a reminder:
Original vid taken off but you get the gist.

I was a late bloomer though, i know they're one of the typical bands for young teens to obsess over but i'm pretty new to them. Mezmerise is one of the most interesting albums i've heard. |

Funny you bring up SOAD
When I was like 10 years old they were the first real heavy metal band I knew. At age 10 I listened to Sugar and Spiders from their first self-titled album. Then I became obsessed with Toxicity. I liked Chop Suey!, Jet Pilot, Aerials, and ATWA. Then I got a burned copy of Steal This Album! I would sing Streamline and Mr. Jack out loud all the time. A few years later Mezmerize came out and I'd turn the radio up every time B.Y.O.B. came on. Soon after Hypnotize came out and I got it for Christmas and it was just as great as Toxicity. Hypnotize, Lonely Day, and Vicinity of Obscenity. I thank SOAD for getting me to quit listening to the old mainstream pop crap and got me into real music. Thank you System!!!

I love System of a Down with a great deal of my being. They take up a good portion of my album collection, and like "Bub" said, they were the first metal band I listened to as a kid, and I've been hooked ever since.
