They need to stop allowing that hack guitarist to write songs. Serj writes toxicity and its great, darion writes this so-called double album and its borderline retarded.

Yeah serj says this was all his idea but "when you have something its best to just let people go and not get in their way"

I'd suggest not allowing that ever again.

Well, with all these side projects, SOAD could be in its death throes... but that's just speculation. Who really knows? They went mainstream -- granted, it's how I got to be a fan of theirs (I liked the song "Hypnotize") -- but ironically enough it's their earlier albums that are better.

Serj > Darion

^Thanks you for stating the obvious

Except let's not take for granted Daron is a pretty talented guitarist, just not a very good singer/song writer

I'm quite sure Serj will be smart enough to take over next album, if not they will most probably lose they're whole TRUE fanbase

Oh I know that. I'm in no way doubting his talent as a guitarist -- some of the guitar work with the songs on Hypnotize and Mesmerize were amazing. Just... like already said, the songwriting/singing leaves way too much to be desired.

Well, I've been listening to Holy Mountains recently and I started paying attention to the bridge, and MY GOD he has one hell of a scream, It sounds really really good when he backs Serj on the lyrics

I like SOAD. Serj has untouchable vocals, but they did fall off a bit with "Steal this Album" (aside from 'Mr. Jack" and Streamline"). Mezmerize/Hypnotice had a few good tracks (i.e. "violent pornography", "lonely day").
