Given that a lot of Nu Metal just plain sucks, but dismissing a whole genre is something else, you're doing a "this genre is better than that genre" game, i have played that game myself and it didn't do me any good whatsoever, don't make the same mistake... I don't really consider Rage nu metal either even if they did strongly influence the genre.... I wouldn't compare their lyrics to SOADs in any way, RATM's lyrics are a lot more planned out and meaningful.... And of course RATM are ridiculously better musicians. If you disagree thats fine, but dont start some big rant about how i'm wrong and you're right, whats the point??.... I also think many of the bands you like suck major ass, i only choose not to be abrasive about it. |

Exactly... It's stupid to blame them for Nu Metal.... Hate the game, not the player.

Pete Seeger was being political when punk rock was being started. He doesnt get the respect he needs for being a lyrical genious so I certainly won't give a spit on Serj

Jethro Tull were political long before punk rock.
Also MC5 and Creedence Clearwater Rivival wrote some great protest songs. |

and kinda like what Boo Boo said, dismissing a whole genre as bad loses your credibility. |

And then I realized... like I was shot... like I was shot with a diamond... a diamond bullet right through my forehead. And I thought: My God... the genius of that. |

Can someone show me where I called Rage Nu-Metal?
I don't think Rage are any better than SOAD. And saying that Nu-Metal is laughable, isn't writing off an entire genre. It's writing of an entire sub-genre, and I'm fine with that |

Sub genres are genres...
And again, i think a lot of indie sucks, but i'm not going to flat dismiss every band under a indie label simply because of that... Since i also like a lot of indie bands, saying all nu metal sucks based on one band is like saying all Jazz sucks based on Kenny G. And RATM are hella better than SOAD. ...............Shut up Urban. |
