Now if Serj gain control of their album making like before, then I say they will be much better. Mezmerize and Hypnotize was meh. BTW: that beard is mess up(static-x).

They have an original sound. As do Static-X They are both original then, I just prefer one to the other.
If you hear them on the radio, you can tell who it is by the first few bars. Because they are more pop However, you can still recognize them, and many of their songs have an eastern twist to it, which I really enjoy.
Vocally, they are somewhat talented. Until Daron decided to start singing I like their harmony. Neither of them are AMAZINGLY talented, but they compliment each other nicely...in a sorta dissonant way. It just sounds good.
The range is nice. Personally, I like the softer songs. Toxicity was good, Mesmerize was good, Hypnotize is okay.
They are good live, unlike some crappy bands that do good in the studio then get on a stage and bang on the front of the guitar hoping to make some good noise. Daron ****s up so much live LOL I've seen them on a live broadcast on television and they sounded okay. And it looks like it'd be a great live show, if not for the techinical aspect, the entertainment aspect. Dresden Dolls aren't incredibly talented, but its the best show I've ever been to because it was thoroughly entertaining.
Yeah, it maybe simple riffs, but not everyone can play the guitar amazingly.Simple repeatitive riffs that you will hear in different varieations through out an album Yes, but like I said, it IS simple, but not everyone is hendrix.
They are pollitically charged, I respect them for that. Static-X talk about social discrepencies (spelling?), and there are plenty of bands that are politically charged. SOAD only discusses propaganda which they use themselves. They also jumped on the bush bashing bandwagon. I still repect them for speaking out at all. And BYOB took some balls.

And seriously, just because a majority of the senior members dont like this band doesnt mean its ****ty music. It could be a sign I'm tired of that crap. Then don't like stupid music or make blanketed statements Dont call my choice in music stupid. Music is about emotion, about entertainment, its all personal. Yes, one can question the technical aspects of a band, but to most(the musically uneducated) its about the sound, they dont care about song keys or how complicated the riffs are ,and thats all.

Happy?

BYOB took balls? Nah. "Why don’t presidents fight the war? Why do they always send the poor?" Thats the basic message of the song and that statement in the song is totally moronic, people volunteer to go to war. They don't go draft poor farmers. The song sends a lame message. If I want politics i'll listen to Crass, Dead Kennedys, or Rage. Someone with an actual decent message.

I'm going to do the exact same thing you did. BYOB didn't take balls, the song was recorded and released at the peak of the Bush bashing bandwagon. Don't Lose Touch by Against Me! took serious balls. As did most of RATM's songs. Black Flag couldn't start a show up for a while without being shut down by the police. Oh and SOAD is more radio friendly than they were when they came out. Static-X due to their un-frequent radio play has stayed closer to their original sound they have progressed for the better but keeping to their roots. If you want to talk about fassion, here is something. Wayne wears street cloths when he plays live, Shavo and the rest of SOAD dress up. Now who is there to entertain and who is there to play?

The only worthy artist with a political message is Immortal Technique

Comparing them to Rage, its not even competition. Rage Against the Machine would win anyday. But with BYOB's radioplay and the recent crackdowns on censoring, it was brave to bring out a song directed towards Bush. I havent heard Black Flag. Heard OF them, never got too interested though. I think I'll give them a listen. And that kinda furthered my point above. With the street clothes, yeah its gonna sound good, but besides some moshing....maybe...it wont be a fun show. With System, even if the band is off that night, you're still gonna go home saying "boy, they really looked nice tonight" lol.

The message behind BYOB was stupid (see my post above), and its not the only bush bashing song on the radio. Remember American Idiot?
