yes and no. i say that because i question their relevance. As you can see by my user name that i am a huge SOAD fan, but would their new album be just to appease their already fans? or could they TRULY benefit (new fans, new exposure, new opportunities, etc) from making a new album. i think even Serj's and Daron's solo efforts themselves already perpetuate the inevitability of what a new SOAD album would do, and that is just appeal to the fans.
it'd be like if Rage Against The Machine were to make a new album, are they relevant in a market where they wouldn't do well. if Rage and SOAD were brand new bands to come out in this era, they might be lucky to play bar shows. Same with Nirvana, and Pantera, they released GREAT albums, but what real good could come from them releasing new albums (i'm saying hypothetically of course). but to me that's the genius of these bands, they are all great musicians, that released some amazing music, but to release a new album just to appease their fans… the question is why? when they could just do a reunion show every so often, make some money, and use it to further their own projects. |

i realize that may sound pretty negative, and i will contradict myself by saying i would love to hear new music from these guys BUT, from their point of view, they probably don't see a real reason to do it. as a musician myself, the goal is always to move forward musically, creatively, and aesthetically.

i agree with Bubbles in the sense that you can't force them to reunite wthvr internal problems the band had is up to them to solve and figure out if they want to remain together.
To reunite just for the fans i don't think will create a genuine reason to remain together they'll just do it as fan service. I like SOAD but i wouldn't want them to make music just to please fans if their heart is not in it. Same goes for every band i like that broke up.

System is really difficult for me to categorize, so I just call them alternative metal and be done with it. |

As much as I love Chop Suey, I heard it to much when I was little XD. Toxicity is defintely at the top of my list for SOAD. Followed probably by BYOB. SOAD as a whole is defintely towards the top of my favorite metal groups.
