All of the little kids I hear about these days watch High School Musical and listen to Jonas Brothers and Hannah Montana.
There's the select group of kids in elementary school that will end up being skaters and stoners in high school that are obsessed with AC/DC and Metallica.

I forgot to mention...

I used to be one of those kids. Not really in the skater or stoner crowd though.

I used to love SOAD when I was young, I still listen to them once in a while and reminisce. Never was a fan of the first album though, or Hypnotize, but I can listen to Toxicity and Steal This Album from beginning to finish, and the majority of Mezmerize.

Ok, another update (I'm on a bit of a SOAD kick), does anyone else find Holy mountains heartbreaking? I don't pay much attention to lyrics usually, but these are hard to ignore.

Can you feel their haunting presence?
Can you feel their haunting presence?

Liar, Killer, Demon
Back to the river AraS

Someone's blank stare deemed it warfare

Liar, Killer, Demon
Back to the river Aras

Freedom, Freedom, we're Free,we're Free

Can you hear the holy mountains?

Liar, Killer, Demon
Back to the river Aras

Someone's mouth said paint them all red

Liar, Killer, Demon
Back to the river Aras

Freedom, Freedom, we're Free, we're Free

They have all returned
Resting on the mountain side
We have learned that you have no

They have returned
Resting on the mountain side

We have learned that you have no

Honor, Murderer, Sodomizer
Back to the river Aras

They have returned
Resting on the mountain side
We have learned that you have no

Honor, Murderer, Sodomizer
Back to the river Aras

Freedom, Freedom, we're Free, we're Free

It so perfectly conveys the anger (Liar, Killer, Demon) and sorrow (Freedom) of all the victims of the genocide, almost like they've given them a voice beyond the grave. Amazing song.

Agreed. Not a huge fan of SOAD but I must admit I do love both Holy Mountains and Aerials.

They're not a good metal band, no. They're not really metal, imo. Yes, I'm sure you've heard people say they're 'Nu-metal', but thats not really a genre. I'm not truely where they fall in. Somewhere between Metal and Rock though.

They are alternative metal, and nothing anyone says will convince me otherwise.
