Muse VS Radiohead
My vote goes for Muse...OK computer is my favourite radiohead album and i think that Absolution and origin of symentry are as good or better...And IMO muse takes the vote for live performances 100%
They are such a tight band live and Matthew Bellamy is perfect |
Teh Head.
To be honest, even though they are compared all the time, the only striking similarity i hear is the vocals. Though Bellamy claims to not be influenced by Yorke at all and that his main influence is Jeff Buckley, who is also Yorkes biggest influence vocally... So it's probably just a coincidence that they sound so damn alike. |
Radiohead, Matt Bellamy = yuck. Though by liking Yorke, that statement becomes ironic.
|
WHAT!... Matthew Bellamy = THE SEX!
|
I reckon his vocals suck. The only reason I don't run him down is because he's talented in other areas.

However i also like his vocals more than Buckleys, and i guess thats bad... Because if i said that in front of any classically trained vocalist, they would kill me on the spot. Stylisically they are pretty different, Muse are a heavier more guitar based rock band with greater pop sensabilities... And Radiohead, well... They're just Radiohead. |

I just Prefer Radiohead...not a huge fan of Either band, but Radiohead do it for me more than Muse...
*saw this poll coming* |

One arrow is ok, but i draw the line after two. ;) |
Well...i guess i just couldnt hold back..the one downside of Bellamy is sometimes he just looks like a huge wanker when hes on stage ...jumping around and shit
|
Ha... I love it when he does that... It's fun to predict how he's gonna trip and fall on to something, which he always does.
|
I have to agree with Les Paul. Muse is a phenomenal band and Radiohead are just a tad bit overrated IMO!
|
BooBoo have you seen Muse live in concert before?
|
Okay, I think my opinion is that I wouldn't like eather vocalist if they fronted Muse. Basically I don't like that style of rock accompanying that style of vocals.
Which would also make me wrong when I say Bellamy sucks. If he fronted Radiohead, I'd probably like him. I can enjoy that style of vocals with Radioheads style of music, but not Muses. Phew, I think thats how it's supposed to go. |
^^ Very Well Put.
*nods* |

I'm such a pussy. |
Haha you suck...well i've never been to any killer concerts..ive seen Chilliwack...they were cool....and i just saw a Pink Floyd Tribute band...they were also pretty good
|
Matt Bellamy = One of the biggest idiots I have ever spoken to.
Guess you could say my judgement is clouded by this. |
You talked to Bellamy?
|
He used to use the same music chat room as me about a year or 2 before muse`s first album came out.
He was a bit like Don. |
Really .... for christ sake...well ill put that behind me...and now i just dont want to meet him...i still like his music a lot
|
Oh god, tell me he's not a Dream Theater fan Urban.
He would probably argue with Don though... He cited Yes as one of Muse's major influences. ;) |
I don`t know what his influences are , he spent all his time talking about how great he was
|
Because he is :o:
:D |
I have to give him credit for one thing. I always assumed he was in some crappy local band (to be fair they were then) and that most of the crap he came out with was just that.
So you can imagine my surprise the day I was at work and they played Muscle Museum on the radio for the first time. When I saw him a couple of days later I basically held my hands up & said OK OK I accept you wern`t talking sh*t , but you still suck though :D He was kinda fun in a 'look at me i`m an attention whore' kind of way last time I saw him was just before he did an American tour for the Origin Of Symmetry album , I guess he was too famous for us by then.Did send me a nice video that a female Dutch fan sent him though. :D |
Man o man....that must have been weird hearing that on the radio
|
I know , I guess it would be like finding out Don`s novel is top of the New York Times bestsellers list.
|
I wouldnt be able to live with myself

Bellamy and the rest of the band are pretty open about their influences in interviews, among the bands they have listed as influences include Yes, Nirvana, Jeff Buckley, Queen, The Verve, Elton John, Radiohead, The Who, Pearl Jam, Jimi Hendrix, Rage Against The Machine, Pink Floyd, Tom Waits, Pavement, dEUS, Smashing Pumpkins and Primus... Since you dispise most of these bands it's not hard to understand why you don't care for them. |
Buckley
Oh GOD he never used to shut up about that bastard |
Urbans having flashbacks
|
All we need now is some redhead called Nikki to come in this thread and constantly drool over him & start posting hundreds of pics of them together :(
|
Bellamy and the redhead?
|
His first groupie
|
I wish i could be that ugly and pussy like that *snaps fingers*
|
New topic. Who's uglier?... Matt or Thom?
Difinitely Thom.... His lazy eye reminds me of that ugly whore Paris Hilton. |
Thom Yorke , simply for his shadow boxing robot dance when he plays live :D
|
I didn't realise this was an actuall delima for some. Radiohead.
I like Muse but they've never wrote something that made my jaw drop. |
Well...what have you heard...because Bliss drops my jaw everytime
|
I think they write great music. I have all of their albums. Radiohead is just way more satisfying than Muse for me.
