Haha it never ends, does it? (for those of you who don't know, "there there" is the name of a Radiohead song) and Muse, more skillful than Radiohead? ohhh, I dunno if i'd agree with that! Muse are good, yes, but Personally I think that Radiohead would pip them in just about every area. there are probably a LOT of people who disagree, but that's what I think! |

The problem lies in the fact that many people here firmly believe that what they believe is some kind of objective truth which they spend an awful amount of time shoving down everyone elses throats in hopes that they will be swayed to share the same beliefs... Then again, that's become the major reason for joining a music forum in the first place, which is kinda sad.
Forums are suposed to be about sharing advice, giving recomendations, learning from other people and making friendly discussions about the topic at hand... Not going on about how your opinion is better than everyone elses over and over and over and over... Thats why i came here, and that's why i left DDD to spend more time here, to learn from people, and i learn from a lot of people here, i've stopped learning from the people at DDD a long time ago, they stopped being helpful to me so i stopped being helpful to them, and discussions always disolved into flame wars.... That site is full of elitist twats and asshats who infuriated me so much that i pretty much ended up becoming just like them, and it got me banned, while people who have done even worse things than me have gotten away without even a warning, you could blame irresponsible mods, but the fact of the matter was that most of these asshats that gave me trouble were the mods themselves, not because i broke the rules, everybody broke the rules, it was because i didn't agree that their subjective opinions were actually facts that was some kind of objective reality that everyone needs to accept, and that when someone bashs Nirvana it's just expressing a opinion, when i diss Megadeth it's mindless flaming... In fact, i am relieved about the ban, the site became an addiction, and the only reason i kept posting there was so i could finish some old arguments that got really out of hand, and as a matter of fact Urban, i used to flip out on this guy because he had over 50 posts of nothing but the word "subjective", i guess i have picked up some disgusting habits, and i apologise... I find people here to be more reasonable and less elitist, though there are still some people here who remind me of DDD, whom i can't stand... I have built up a very bad reputation there, everyone portrays me as an arrogant "dictator" type who had no respect for anyone (which was kinda true) and was not only easly provoked, but provoked a lot of people as well, i even made a joke thread called "Why virtuosos are ruining music" where i called Miles Davis and Paganini terrorists and said that any kind of music that isn't "rock n roll" and based on simple power chords is sh*t, and that played a major part in my banning... To make this long bloated ranting short (if possible), i don't want to be that kind of person anymore, not here, not anywhere. Yes that's a ridiculous story.... And it took me a long time to learn a lession that any dumbass should have known from the beginning... This is music, not politics. |

Those people should be ignored... Complaining about them every waking minute only makes things worse.

this argument is hilarious. Anyone else think so?
Obviously those who like Radiohead are going to stick to Radiohead, and those who like muse will push for Muse. If you're going to give out about shoving your opinions down someone else's throat, you're too late, you've already been doing it. oh and muse may be more skilled than radiohead (I'm not sure I agree with that, but still), do they use it? that's one of the things about Radiohead; they take the most minimalist of a background, and make it into the most amazing song. |
