haha don't get me started on that lol but actually you wouldnt believe how many people (close friends of mine particularly, so maybe i just have an excessive hatred of it) think that muse are mega talented and defend their opinion with knights of cydonia

I'm tired of all this Muse hate. And some of the things said about them here are wrong.
Anyone who thinks they are a Radiohead ripoff clearly hasn't actually listened to them. Bellamys and Yorkes vocals are kinda similar, but thats just because they share similar influences. Bellamy is more influenced by Jeff Buckley and Freddie Mercury than anyone else. And it's not hard to tell. |

To their credit they tried to change things up a bit on Black Holes And Revelations. Supermassive Black Hole has some interesting ideas going on, and Starlight, while irritating, is certainly a good pop rock track. Some of the other songs though were just poo. Invincible, Knights Of Cydonia, bah, I don't even want to remember. But aside from those mishaps, BH&R is their best album to date and almost redeems them from the abortion that was Origin of Symmetry. |
