Which decade has the better music? (rock, quote, memories, 60s)

i picked the 80s cause some of the best metal bands came from that era......namely metallica

I would have to go with late 80's early nineties...all my fav bands produced their best stuff and some their only stuff in that time period.

I think it goes from 60-80s, rock really evolved then. I mean the general music was terrible, but the rock scene was coming on quite well. People like Hendrix, The Dorrs, The Who. Things were really starting to grow, not just change.

90's and present. It's all coming along nicely these days, theres a good foundation for new artists to look back on and use to their advantage.

Except these days you seem to get a lot of nostalgic bastards saying that most music is a copy of some band 20 years back.

Definitely the present. Right now we have all of the amazing music that came before us, plus all of the new stuff people are making.

The 90's were very strong. You had grunge and stoner rock going on at the same time, plus Radio Head.

80's as far as new music. Frank Zappa, Metallica and many other bands and people had great things coming out at the time.

80s had some great bands releasing legendary albums, like Iron Maiden (Number of the Beast), Metallica (Master of Puppets), Helloween (Keeper of the Seven Keys Pts 1 & 2). There were also some bands like Grave Digger, Manowar, Stratovarius, Dream Theater, Gamma Ray, Blind Guardian, etc.who were just beginning lengthy careers too, finding their own distinctive sounds.

Early '90s was the best though. There was a Power Metal boom in the early '90s, so many good bands came to the spotlight. And some old bands like Blind Guardian and Gamma Ray finally turned to full-fledged Power Metal too, so to speak...they each released 4 classic albums.

Ah, this thread brings back memories.

My opinion remains the same, the 70s reign supreme, but the 60s and 90s are not too far behind.

I went with the good 'ol 90's. It was between 90's and present and the present doesnt thoroughly impress me.
