Hey, I didn't notice the little paragraph at the end. And I was pointing out that some of those bands weren't mainstream.

I cant believe present is winning. Present music isnt good, all I hear are constant mediocre indie bands non-stop. How is that good?

Old great bands had to start somewhere, and so do the new ones. Use some empathy to hear some of them out, and you might be surprised. If your convinced nothing new is good, you'll never see it.

How many posts must I make before I can post links?

And by the way, whats wrong with indie bands?

The other day while viewing the iTunes page featuring indie artists, I noticed the opening comment that struck a cord.

"Just when you think you have your tastes nailed down and perfectly pigeonholed, someone pops up and starts fiddling with the rule book again."

I have to say, I couldn't agree more. Indie music is like watching the Independent Film Channel. You might see 15 or 20 films where you wonder to yourself, just what the hell could have they been thinking when they made that. When out of nowhere you find one that just rocks your world.

Indie artists don't have to operate in that corridor that major labels try to establish for their contracted bands. Corridors that the labels believe will be the most fruitful for their investment. Indie artists can more or less let their inhibitions fly. Yeah, that may mean you'll run into a good handful of bands out in left field. But it also leaves the possibility of running into some real creative genius as well.

The choices aren't as simple as they were 30 years ago. Its become a very complicated world, with a lot of hidden gems to be found.

I dont mean indie as in an indie label. I mean indie as indie rock. Its that sound thats been defined by bands like coldplay, arctic monkeys, jack penate, razorlight, the killers etc. I hear this stuff non-stop and none of its original or groundbreaking, most of its the same old stuff, and it has gotten very dull and boring. Dont get me wrong I like franz ferdinand and the frattelis, but most of it I cant stand.

Indie Rock has no musical meaning...
