There's far too much animosity towards metal on this forum... I mean you'd think people on a music forum could be open-minded...

And as for Annihilator. Alice in Hell wasn't a generic thrash album. And not all thrash sounds like Metallica. If you're not acquainted with a genre, it often all sounds the same. It's no more homogenous than any other subgenre.

But I agree that Annihilator alone is hardly reason to vote for a decade of music.

Yeah but in fairness voting for the 80s just for Annihilator would be a bit like me voting for the 90s because of Shed 7 or Menswear.
