Well here's a good decent list of 80's guitarists in no particular order
Steve Stevens ,Eric Johnson, Randy Rhoads, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Eddie Van Halen, Michael Hedges and Stevie Ray Vaughan

60's: Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, Keith Richards, Pete Townshend, Steve Howe, Robert Fripp...That's strictly guitarists that did rock songs off the top of my head.

I really liked the showmanship of guitarists in the 80's though

I read that as "Robert Plant and Kyuss"...which would be weird as hell.

I used to think that the 80s had the best music, but now I don't care as there's been so much great music each decade from th 50s onwards that I can't be fucked sorting thru it all and deciding what's best. If you're set on a particular genre or scene, as I was with 80s hardcore/alternative, and as some people here obviously are with "classic rock", then it's easy to choose. But the more music I listen to, the more I appreciate everything for what it is

Or something.

Its gotta be the 90's!!! The alternative was great, (although I dont like the name) grunge rock (its more of a hard rock to me), metal.
And then came the modern "pussy" rock of today. You know, like those guys who are really good!!! They had the treadmills in the music video!!! I cant remember there name!! You know all those bands are alike!!! Yeah right doesn't suprise me. They have to resort back to having Green Day and Red Hot Chilli Peppers (90's bands) to get good tunes. No new music is coming to the scene. They are seldom but ya still got Future Leaders of the World was one that I followed up on, there have been songs here and there. Oh yeah Nickelback had a few good ones but, Yeah Imma say what your all thinking, they are from Canada!!! I do like them though. So 90's all the way!!!! Anything past the 80's are considered "oldies" by my stand point and the 80's was "pop" dominated. At the end there we did have a little "pop" and "Rap-Crap" try to come on the scene but the "double O's" took the rest of it. Which has made rock a minority in this decade. F*ck Rap!!! And remember Just chill and Keep Rockin!!!

And closemindedness, and grunge fanboyness. He actually said Nickelback was one of the best modern rock bands...
