Talking

Bowie didn't release anything in the 50's.

He's the best thing from all other decades though.

more significant, but better? I don't think so. Actually Rush is better than all of them. And far, far greater. Still, 00's>80's.

He speaks the truth. The Fall of Troy but the Arcade Fire, the Mars Volta and Porcupine Tree? Cmon, the Arcade Fire released one great, but very overrated album and one mediocre one that is also very overrated.

Errr, Porcupine Tree is a great band. Influential, musically diverse, technically talented...

the same applies to the current. there is good stuff comming out nowadays, just the MAINSTREAM radio rubbish is what is so terrible. even still their are some amazing groups that have come from the present. just to name a few...

arctic monkeys
arcade fire
white stripes
the raconteurs
bloc party
explosions in the sky
gorillaz
john mayer
modest mouse
muse
my morning jacket
of montreal
the mars volta
the shins
the strokes
daft punk

all of these bands have hit some sort of mainstream status and in my opinion have both delievered good memorable music and show future promise.
