i love how doherty gets flamed yet theres so many more drug users in music that dont. People loved kurt cobain, whys that? just curious.

Yeah but the majority of them were known for their music first and the drugs second,unlike Doherty who seems to be a professional drug addict with a band on the side.
He hasn`t written anything that'll be worth looking back on in years to come.

thats not his doing, thats the british media who've developed an obsession with presenting him as this out of control nihilist just so the industry can have its new 'rock star'. They completely exacerbate his image. And the whole matter of whether hes written something of any worth is subjective, i happen to think he has, but then i dont really think cobain's stuff is that great so there you go.

It unfortunately appears, to me at least, that as of now Doherty's musical legacy consists of opening the door for loads of really ****ty, self-consciously British bands like the Others and the Towers of London.

It's Doherty's inability to take his drugs and remain cool, which is his downfall.
Instead of just being a twat for taking drugs...he actually becomes one.
