Well, if I am totally, truly honest with myself, I gotta say I am prog rock sorta guy...
I listen to a good many different genres - I love alternative, I love metal and i don't even mind a good dabbling in classic rock... But in all those genres, i am looking for something different, something that pushes boundaries, that extends rock music as an artistic / expressive form. So while i may not be a prog rock completist or purist, I look for a progressive angle in all genres, and i gravitate towards bands with prog rock leanings.

No offence intended, but the only thing that puts me completely off muse is the singers big deep breaths in between sentences he sings in his songs - it really puts me off though, I dunno if I hone in on it too much now and its a distraction, but if you're listening for it can really bug ya...
As far as their music and song structures go though, I'm sure they beat the hell out of alot of stuff out there - but damn that vocal tick...
