Definitely. Prog shares so many characteristics with psychedelic rock.

Unfortunately many people tend to forget about psychedelic rock since it basically died out, and it's hard to find anything but the most popular psychedelia.

But like you said, prog does owe a hell of a lot to classical and jazz as well.
