Most of the rock bands mentioned on this forum ARE metal bands, what difference does it make?

I preposed a name change a long while back (Rock, Metal & Prog Forum) but that never happened. :(

The rock forum...would kind of die without metal. We'd discuss SOAD over & over..

Well thats not because there aren't great rock bands, but that Metal kids are to hXc to like rock and rock fans are too self concious (on the whole) to admit to liking those bands and instead try to go snap the carrot about listening to jazz and classical (that doesn't really happen here, but elsewhere). Again I'll say:

Drive-by Truckers
Kings of Leon
Queens
Soad
Tool
OK Go

You know something, I figured it out. Because all of these bands aren't Winger of Stryper they all go in the Indie& Alt forum, thats why it would die. I know rock fans did something pretentious here.

On DigitalDreamDoor we have a favorite artists section, devoted to threads made about certain artists, and bashers are not allowed (unless it's Nirvana, GnR or AC/DC, then nobody cares), it's just a fan thing, and you need at least 8 votes to have a thread, in other words if you wanted a thread for a band you like, you need at least 7 other people to support you... Anyway we have 6 pages of threads, and about half of them are metal bands, every metal band that has ever existed has theirt own thread, barely no punk band threads at all, and only a few alt bands... I have tried to get artists like PJ Harvey, The Replacements and Big Star a thread, to no success.

And we have enough metal fans here as it is
