Post-Rock..
any fans?
who are your favourites? if you dont know what it is, look it up on Wikipedia, they have a pretty good definition and band list there. |
post-rock.................wow, i didnt think rock was dead
It doesn't have to be dead for it to have a post-genre. Punk wasn't dead when post-punk came about. Emo wasn't dead when post-emo came about. Anyway, my favorite post-rock band is a dead tie between Sigur Ros and Explosions in the Sky. Honorable mentions to GY!BE and Mogwai.
^agreed. But I've been confused about what post rock is for a while so, what exactly is it?
It is using the normal rock set-up (guitar, bass, drums) to produce a sound completely different from 'rock'.

Definitly. A Song For Our Fathers is one of the greatest songs EVER. If you disagree I don't care. :)
I agree... i cant say how excited i was when i found out they were re-releasing How Strange, Innocence. its their best work i think.
Post rock is mostly described as simply being this, bands that use rock instruments for non rock purposes.
i often call it the bridge between rock and classical..
but anyway, listen to Red Sparowes! |
