under mp3 section, check out North American Corpse Desecration or Ceremonial Gasmask first, not sure what your tastes are but you might like.

The Red Chord's site is down, so go here for a couple mp3's:
http://www.sicrecords.net/home.html
its in the archives of "Band of the Month"

well, i was going for extreme as in a little bit... for the lack of a better word, crazy. Cephalic Carnage definately goes under there, along with Pig.... have not heard any Discordance Axis, though.

David Frost 07-10-2004 08:35 AM

man, you have to check them out. they broke up a while back... the drummer from burnt by the sun played for them.

i think you might be ableto find an mp3 here

Id still have to say for extremities,Dillinger escape plan. There a new type of heavy music. But if your looking at all out brutality,Deicide,Sikfuk,Pig Destroyer,Exhumed,Six Feet Under or Nasum are all pretty extreme.

in my opinion there are more than plenty bands that are extreme... maybe one band compared to another (i.e. Metallica to Napalm Death) is more extreme, but no one reigns as the "most brutal" to me, as it is all opinion.

The Red Chord are a good band, but they're far from being really extreme. If you like them though, you might want to check out a little-known Danish (I think) band called Lipid. I'm not sure where you can get mp3s of them (bar p2ps), but their album is available through Copro records (www.coprorecords.co.uk).

Anyway, most extreme band..I don't know. There's many different types of extreme - heaviness/brutality, technicality, sheer volume, bleakness/sparseness, etc.

My gut choices;
Heaviness/brutality - Cryptopsy (with Lord Worm)
Technicality - Cynic, Atheist, Spastic Ink.
Volume - \m/ MANOWAR! \m/
Bleakness - not sure..Neurosis? Or maybe some black metal band..

Also, Six Feet Under - they are, as a friend of mine once said, officially less metal than Perry Como. They're terrible.

i agree with those choices. i think Electric Wizard, Warhorse and Sleep could fit the bleakness... or Sunn 0)) or Earth for a little drone...

I listen to some pretty heavy stuff being all about the HxC and stuff.

Symphony In Peril
Converge
The Locust
Between The Buried And Me
Nodes Of Ranvier
Bleeding Through
Figure Four

In terms of pure insanity

Pig Destroyer
Sinai Beach (kinda funny cause its ChristxCore)
Between The Buried And Me
The Heathen Propoganda

If you want any of it contact me thru AIM at riseagainstrocks

Yo Jesus, It my seem like I'm out to rank on you, but Dude corpse have died out on us and more heavier metal have come out since 'em, Now they seem like pussy rock compared to some of the real thrash/death metal out there!!!

riseagainstrocks 10-31-2004 04:59 PM

^and now is where you say a band

Norma Jean is pretty crazy as well, I finally got their debut cd. They were probably better as Luti-Kriss though.

Amo Pheara 12-20-2004 08:00 PM

Kinda hard to say...there are a lot of bands now that play extream and to define which is the most extream aint easy.

Heres a few that i still find pretty Mindblowing:

Emperor
Anaal Nathrakh
Celtic Frost
Hellhammer
1349

Im also into a band called Esoteric which i wouldnt fit into the extream metal scene as they are a seriously Depressive and Slow Doom Metal band but for what they do and how they sound id call them extream.

TheBig3 12-20-2004 11:50 PM

This is the dumbest question I've seen thus far. The most extreame? How the balls can a band be extreame? They can make extreame music, but what do they do thats extreame? Not really anything. This words is extreamly overused.

[MERIT] 12-21-2004 08:09 AM

^this is actualy a very good question. im going with Gwar, i mean they freakin throw blood on the crowd! that awesome!

ish 12-21-2004 09:39 AM

i think blood on the crowd is kinda nasty...depending on wat animal it comes from LOL nah thats heaps cool in a way. u go home soaked in blood and make ur mum clean it she'll be like um *insert name here* y r ur clothes soaked in blood....u slowly walk away saying cant talk im not finished my list yet LOL f*ck im funny
