Well, I'm a writer, so a good portion of my favorite artists are (in my mind) brilliant songwriters.
I can get some good inspiration from the sonic side of things as well though.

You know, I had a hard time getting into Manson's new album as well, but it's definitely starting to grow on me.
As for not being able to stand metal, well, I can sort of appreciate that, too, since a lot of metal bugs the crap out of me. But there's still some good stuff in there for me, which is something I can say for a few other genres I wouldn't particularly label myself a serious fan of.

Why the hell would anyone LOVE to hate a band? If they aren't worth a damn to even listen to them, then they shouldn't be worth the effort to hate them on a constant basis.
