I read an interview the other day from jerry cantrell, and he was speaking about all these new singers they have been trying to replace layne with.
Saying how these new guys just arent cutting it,and that he never relised just how much layne was doing vocaly!
And there for it just might be that (LAYNE STALEY..R.I.P) JUST CAN'T BE REPLACED!

I have the album 'Dirt' here, but only ever really liked the song 'Would?'.

Yes, I like them alot and dare I say that I'm most likely a bigger fan of the band and it's artists than most likely anyone else in this forum.I own all their albums, they are one of the bands that I jam to most often (Drums and Guitar), I own all of Jerry Cantrell's albums, I've seen Jerry Cantrell live many times and even own several of his guitar picks that I've got personally from the shows and I'll always tell new fans of the band that they are most likely the best, all around most talented hardrock band of the 90's as well.A.I.C.'s music has also stood the test of time very well, influencing many of the great bands of today and the past highly.Anyone ever hear of the band Godsmack?Their sound and name alone clearly leads A.I.C. fans to believe that Godsmack was definitely influenced by them.I also own Live Facelift, by the way, incase anyone else here can relate.I'd recommend everyone here to check it out if ya haven't already.I can't wait to see what Jerry Cantrell comes up with next!!!

AIC comes from the Genre I just love..but like most "grunge" bands..it all can sound alike and I think it turns a lot of people off from it..I dig it cause since these bands have made their mark..no one has been able to duplicate them and to me thats a staple as a talent. So I love Alice in Chains...Jars of Flies is the best album..short and sweet.

Their albums have no flow and are inconsistent so I never listen to them anymore just because I've grown lazy from listening to stuff I don't have to push skip.

I feel that way about a lot of bands..I am just bias to bands like AIC, STP, Pearl Jam..Soundgarden cause I really started to love and appreciate music when this bands were popular..but I agree somewhat..they dont move real smoothly..the transition from one song to the next can be dissapointing.

As far as Alice in Chains goes, the only album I have is Dirt, which is a great one. I also have some random songs from them on my PC, like 'No Excuses' and 'Man in the Box'.

They are good, but even so, I don't feel inclined to try out more of their stuff. A bit boring.
