Yeah like the Judas Priest guy, Megadeth are my favorite thrash/heavy metal band like Metallica and Pantera, so I recommend them, try out some Anthrax too, they're pretty good, Down are a good band that are quite similar too. Or you could go for some NWOBHM that inspired it all, like Skid Row or Bleak House.
