Different people like different albums. If you like Kill 'em All and old school thrash/speed metal then you'll like Night of the Stormrider. A good diverse list of the different kinds of songs they do:

If your looking for an album to get, my favorite is Night of the Stormrider, but it's a difficult first listen. Maybe try Something Wicked this Way Comes.

^ I would recommend The Dark Saga for the first iced earth cd, its not my favorite, but it really gives you a good feel for the band, and Barlow.

cool, I've always wanted to hear some Iced Earth stuff too. I love Kill Em All and thrash, so I'll probably like Night Of The Stormrider.

The solos aren't quite as killer as old school 'tallica but the heavy riffs have huge similarities.

You should defenitly get NOTS, its my fav Iced Earth cd, although Barlow's not on it.
If you like that cd, then get Somewhere Far Beyond, by Blind Guardian
and then you'll have yourself 2 more amazing bands in your collection!
