Question Industrial Metal

Anyone into bands like KMFDM, Atari Teenage Riot, Pitchshifter, Misery Loves CO., or bands in this genre.

I only know of a few, is anyone into this scene? Can anyone recommend other bands likes the ones I listed?

lets see... Ministry and Fear Factory are both good... so is Front Line Assembly.

though i'm not a big fan of the "industrial" style...

VNV are top-notch synthesised industrial.
Einstürzende Neubauten are one of the greatest industrial bands (or just bands) ever - really amazing industrial/experimental stuff.
Leech Woman are on the heavier end of the spectrum.
Prong, similar to Leech Woman, I think.

And if you like Atari Teenage Riot, you could always check out Alec Empire's solo stuff. Try the album Intelligence and Sacrifice (song: Path of Destruction, if any).

Rammsteins one of my favorite industrial metal bands. I actually view them as sort of death industrial.

Industrial is such a lazy catch all for bands that incorporate drum machines and samples into their music. The whole meaning of 'Industrial' is the monotonous sound of machinery coupled with strange Electronic samples that are meant to ape machinery. This was then set to sparse rythmns to mirror an emotionally cold 'non-human' asthetic. A perfect example would be Throbbing Gristle whose music can remain unapproachable over 30 years later.

Modern bands such as Ministry took an element of this but they were just as much influenced by bands such as P.I.L and Killing Joke. Even early Krautrock had a bearing on their sound too.

Combichrist is an industrial metal.
Not my cup of tea, but if you like the genre they are the way to go.

From what I have heard of Combichrist I can say that they are very clichéd. The Young Gods rarely get a mention on these boards. Damn shame .
