Making a thread for all of his reviews seems like a pretty sensible thing to do, as he got bundled with a load of requests earlier in the month. |

And i do find it insulting for him to make a thread just so he could say The Ramones suck...And i dont think his reviews are good enough to deserve their own thread anyway. |

Well, that's up to him to choose as he created the thread. There was a bit of demand for his reviews, he likes writing them and I'm sure he also feels that they are good (maybe, I'd have to listen to the songs in more detail). The thread creation side is his choice. You get to choose whether or not you read and reply to the thread.

Sorry but you`re reveiws are shit and totally miss the point of what music is about. All you do is split the song into little segments and say 'well this bit is crap' , 'this bit is boring','this bit is dull'. It`s just so tedious to read. So you don`t like the Ramones song , if it was so bad then why was it bad , not all these technical aspects of the playing of it which is all you seem to drone on about.Did you get that , why was the SONG bad? not the playing of it. A great song doesn`t have to be played technically perfect for it to be great , thats why i`ll choose someone like the New York Dolls over Dream Theater everytime. Punk was about energy & simplicity , thats why people liked it , it was returning to the original rock n roll roots from the 50s and saved the world of the bloated out of touch prog bands that polluted the mid 70s.The beauty of it IS it`s simplicity. This seems to have totally gone over your head

He dosent even like 70s prog. I like prog AND punk, is it that damn hard to like complex and simple music at the same time?...Apparantly no one else is able to, except TheDeathOfCapitalism...Why listen to the same f*cking sh*t over and over and be close minded to other genres because they're different from the genres you like? It really pisses me off when punk fans slagg off prog because its different, it really pisses me off when prog fans slagg off punk because its different, i hear too much of this sh*t from both sides, usualy you people know very little about the genres you critisize, weither it be prog, punk or any other genre, prog fans bash all punk based on The Ramones, and punk fans bash all prog based on ELP... Listen to the genres you like, and shut the f*ck up about the genres you dont like, because maybe other people happen to like them, and chances are you dont even know what the hell you are talking about. Theres no right and wrong genres, music would be boring as hell if it was all basic 3 chord anthems, and it would be boring as hell if it was all complex suites and epics, music comes in many forms and sounds, thats what makes it great, it isnt all meant to be exactly the same, dont disclassify whole genres based on your personal taste, be a little open minded, Jesus Christ. Sorry Urban this isnt really directed at you, but everybody. |

Yeah but be fair the whole punk/prog thing in the 70s is no different to the hair metal / grunge thing in the 90s

Plus hair metal was a fad and it died out, prog may be no where near as popular as it used to be, thanks in most part to punk rock, but it is still around and dispite lack of media coverage it is still pretty popular. |
