![]() This has a short, sharp and sweet guitar solo in it; get yourself ready at two mins in , or you´ll miss it! :- The Allman´s have so many great guitar solos; I´m choosing this instrumental because, by their standards, it´s pretty concise but clearly demonstrates what they are capable of:- With this song, it´s not so much the solo that catches my attention as the cool dialogue that´s goes on between the guitar and the vocals, right from the opening bars. "Show biz kids making movies of themselves. You know they don´t give a f**k about anybody else!"

George Harrison's on Something always struck me for how amazingly melodic and simple it is.
Or how about Fripp's on St Elmo's Fire off of Another Green World?

He nails one of the most ridiculous solos I've ever heard and then tosses his guitar and walks out. If anyone has never really appreciated how great of a guitar player Prince was this should show you all you need to know. |
