I've got a good mind to give up living, Need your love so bad, you can pretty much pick anything from the man, he's a goldmine of good tone and good licks.
Great selection.

I just love the solo in UFO's Rock Bottom,in fact it's one of my all time favourite songs as well.

Use to play that one in my band many years ago. Michael Shenker's got so many great solos.

Picking my favorite Gilmour solo from Pink Floyd is almost impossible. If there was a gun to my head and I had to pick one, I'd have to go with Shine On You Crazy Diamond. Those three solos Gilmour does in it are so bluesy and epic.

Others of Gilmour's I love are, in no particular order:

Comfortably Numb
Time
Another Brick in the Wall
Mother
Hey You
On the Turning Away

Gilmour has some amazing solos, one of my all-time favorite guitarists - if pressed, I'd say Mother is my favorite from Gilmour.

As for all-time favorite solo, that's pretty hard but I'd have to go with Mustaine's solo at the end of Holy Wars...The Punishment Due.

Im not usually into solos but i'd say, Django's solo sections in limehouse blues, Joey Santiago's solo on Hey, Kurt's solo on Serve the servants.

Oh, and Slash's solo on November rain. (This one was painful to admit)

Bump.

4:27 in this one is my favorite jazz-influenced solo.
3:18 in Sweet Silence is the perfect deconstruction of a guitar solo.

I really loved the solo(s) played in Journey's "of a Lifetime".
