FF to 5:00 for the solo. Page, Jones, and Bonham jamming like crazy.

If we're talking that style of soloing, then Hackett wins in a huge way.

He nails one of the most ridiculous solos I've ever heard and then tosses his guitar and walks out. If anyone has never really appreciated how great of a guitar player Prince was this should show you all you need to know. |

As far as my vote for "best solo". That is really really tough. One that comes to mind initially is Rush's "Limelight".
I think it gets overlooked many times because we've all heard the song a million times, and it just sounds so easy. It isn't. Not only is it fairly complex, but the whole band is in perfect sync as they pull off, maybe not the "best solo", but certainly one of the best executed solos I am aware of. |

You don't need to play an instrument to criticize a player nor do you need to play for that criticism to be correct. It's the logic of a child. |

I'm amazed there's not a single mention of Peter Green anywhere in here.
I've got a good mind to give up living, Need your love so bad, you can pretty much pick anything from the man, he's a goldmine of good tone and good licks. |
