this is true. thwe begining of Stairway to Heaven is soft deepish, and then it gets more of a heavier sound.. (live verison that is) then it just goes BAM and gets amazing at the end.. i really like just before the solo tho.. in the live verison its amazing..it makes me melt.. oh my..

Haha, I have to disagree Urban. Yes it's overplayed, infact it's the most played rock song in music history, but it is a classic. It does blend a range of music styles and it doesn't suck in any facet, other then the fact people drool all over it's dignity. The song by itself is amazing.
But I'm totally sticking with my Razors Edge, AC/DC, for the long haul
