OK, I said Pink Floyd. And I stick with that. But I want to add to the list 38 Special and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Because if anyone saw the last tour, they, in a sense, are still going strong and the music is still alive.
On a favorites scale, the above mentioned bands are mid-level for me. But I think they are mighty talented. Gotta love those ballads. ~court~

We went back there and they had come and hacked off every inoculated arm. There they were in a pile. A pile of little arms. And I remember... I... I... I cried. I wept like some grandmother. I wanted to tear my teeth out. I didn't know what I wanted to do. And I want to remember it. I never want to forget it. I never want to forget. And then I realized... like I was shot... like I was shot with a diamond... a diamond bullet right through my forehead. And I thought: My God... the genius of that. |

I do. But I won't go into it because in my opinion...
It's hard to call Pink Floyd "rock". It's not that they aren't, but it's not exactly as if they are, eather. I'd chuck them in Alternative, or if it were recognised, Progressive. And it's bands like Floyd, where I whole heartedly agreed with boo boo in lobbying for that Progressive forum. To truly embody rock, I'm going to say AC/DC. Sure a lot of it's generic, but the fact that they kicked arse song after song, album after album, while being a through and through rock band is in my mind the pinacle of rock music. It's just outright rock, and it's bloody good rock too.
