Wait. They've already decided their last album?

TyrantSong 09-24-2009 11:08 PM

Yeah. The story finished with No World for Tomorrow, Bag.On.Line is a prequel to it all.

Now that's not to say they're done done. Claudio has a side project (Prize Fighter Inferno) with his an electronic/folk style that works like a spiritual successor.
Travis (other guitarist) has had several side projects, the most recent being The Davenport Cabinet.
Mic Todd is the bassist, and he's working on a folk album.

So yeah.

Co&Ca don't know if they'll retain as a band, start a new saga, or what.

All up in the air yet.

Arya Stark 09-24-2009 11:13 PM

Side projects are never really the same, though.

Yar!

The first time I ever heard Coheed I was wondering around Hot Topic and they were playing 21:13 over the in store pa. This guitar riff was what really caught my attention. I was hooked ever since.

The moral of the story is that sometimes catchy riffs really do work.

FaSho 09-26-2009 03:49 PM

I almost started a discog thread for Coheed but figured like everything else, I'd never finish it. I just recently remembered how great they are, and have been playing Good Apollo pretty much repeatedly since.

That makes me want to listen to the last one or two I've purchased but haven't given too much of a chance, after that damn horrid song on the radio. Figures everyone eats up their worst song.

Which two do you have?
I just downloaded the last of their albums I didn't have, and I finally have each one. [=

2113 was a great song. and funny too because it was kind of a knock on the fact that everyone compares them to rush. claudio claims no one in the band ever listened to rush.

their new album better be epic...their last one was a little weak compared to in keeping secrets and the first good apollo.

Arya Stark 01-16-2010 12:45 PM

I don't think it was weak at all.
I think their weakest album was Second Stage Turbine Blade.

duga 01-16-2010 12:47 PM

i only thought it was weak because it dragged a little more for me than the other two. second stage turbine blade was their debut, so i give them slack for how rough it is...but i thought that album was great.

I think there are great songs on it.
But as an album, I'm not so sure.

Of course.
I'm sure it will be.
It's called the Black Rainbow, I think. :3

gunnels 01-16-2010 01:06 PM

Year of the Black Rainbow set for release in April yush

Arya Stark 01-16-2010 01:07 PM

^_^
Or Year of the Black Rainbow
Close enough

Musefreak14 01-16-2010 07:10 PM

i love the Amory Wars. Actually, im still completely confused about most of it.

For those who don't know, the Amory Wars is a comic that claudio wrote, and it takes place over the course of the four (soon to be five =D) albums. its very confusing, and i dont think i can begin to explain it.
i like listening to the albums in order (especially on long car trips or plane rides) and going hey! this makes sense now!

My favorites are Gravemakers & Gunslingers, The Lying Lies & Dirty Secrets of Miss Erica Court, The Crowing, and Delirium Trigger

gunnels 01-16-2010 07:13 PM

I never dug the Amory Wars. I bought Second Stage Turbine Blade and I wound up giving to a friend. Comic books aren't my thing I guess.

SSTB is my favorite. I still need to hear what they've done after Good Apollo.

duga 01-16-2010 07:28 PM

i've been a cac fan for some time and at some point i did kinda try to figure out the storyline...but i don't get it. i gave up.

Arya Stark 01-16-2010 08:27 PM

I thought it was in the comic.
Or on the site.
Look back in these pages, FaSho posted it somewhere.

Thrice 02-07-2010 12:38 AM

Man, I just gave Second Stage a listen. Blew my mind. If you havent heard it in a while, its definently worth a good listen

+81 02-07-2010 12:49 AM

^Still the best. Neverender, Devil in Jersey City, Elf Tower New Mexico, Delirium Trigger, bonus track 'My Robot will Never Die' thing. Come on. So many great songs.

gunnels 02-22-2010 07:56 PM

ATTENTION: NEW SONG

Not doing much for me atm, but I'm sure it will grow on me.
It's very guitar driven, even for Coheed's standards.

duga 02-22-2010 08:30 PM

I'll give it a listen later, thanks for the post.

So...you are saying...even as a Coheed fan...that I might be overwhelmed with guitars? How is this possible? I really can't even imagine them with more guitars.

imrighterthanyouis 02-22-2010 08:37 PM

i didnt care much about them until i saw em live... holy **** they put on a good show. his hair also looks similar to this...:afro: but better.

gunnels 02-22-2010 08:38 PM

I'm pretty convinced that every strand of his hair has a mind of it's own.

WOW< I love this a lot.

Arya Stark 02-26-2010 01:48 PM

It's a good sound for them.
=DD

dustinthetoucan 02-26-2010 10:26 PM

I honestly don't like Coheed and Cambria too much. I love the song Welcome Home, but I think it's a bit over rated now. Everyone and their sister knows and adores them now.

Alfred 02-26-2010 10:59 PM

I'm pretty excited for the new album. New song sounds like quality stuff.

sidewinder 02-28-2010 01:43 AM

I didn't play the last album too much but I'll still check out the new one when it's out. I played about half that song and it sounds on par.

I completely disagree.
I know so many people that UNDERrate them.
They hear the vocals and completely disregard Coheed and Cambria altogether.

I agree, but I dunno, it might just be because I surround myself with people who are very musically closeminded. Coheed and Cambria is ****ing great. Probably in my top 10.

The people here at FSU are so much more open-minded than where I live.
They all listened to like... **** rap or pop rock.

Really? Maybe I'm wrong. I feel like everyone here likes Lil Wayne and Beyonce and their idea of branching out is listening to new Green Day or something.

Hahaha. Well maybe you're right, but I'm not sure. I'm comparing it to my high school. Not much is as bad as that. =P
