ehhh some true some folklore.

Dead did kill himself, he was a really strange guy. in his suicide letter he ended with something along the lines of "sorry for the mess." when he was discovered by two of the band members later one of them did take a picture but it was never used as an actual album cover, it ended up as the cover for one of the most well known bootlegs later on in their career though.

the band denies the other two rumours

If they had killed him to eat his brain it'd be a dick move but I can't see anything wrong with what they allegedly did. It's what Death would have wanted.

varg was and still is way more ****ed up than Mayhem ever were. dead was just weird and really depressed meanwhile varg is a murderer, Nazi, survivalist, etc. the fact that he's raising children actually scares me a little.
