diSEMBOWELMENT had as much to do with the origins of drone doom as anyone else, even though it wasn't intentional. They also had as much to do with the rise of death-doom, even though they described themselves as purveyors of premium grind. I don't think they knew what they were doing, but Transcendence Into The Peripheral stands tall in metal.

Not drone doom. TITP is awesome though. Only drone doom band I have time for is Hjarnidaudi

I didn't say it was drone doom. There were drone-doom like elements to it that other people took and expanded on. There are parts of that album that are even more funeral than Ahab...once you get that slow, it's drone doom.

note: drone-doom and drone are not the same thing

Drone has more to do with ambiance than speed. Drone doom is highly repetitive "riffs" with heavy amounts of noise and ambient sounds adding to the texture.

By the way, I feel like an ass arguing the minute differences, but to those who don't know, the differences are real! I swear!
