Manowar - Kings of Metal. Very entertaining straight up power metal band, that were also innovative by releasing this epic slice of viking/heathen metal cheese in 88' beating Bathory's Hammerheart by almost 2 years. They featured tasty guitar solos by ex-Dictator Ross the Boss, insane bass solos and a lead singer with a pretty good set of pipes. I look at them as the Kiss of power metal.

As for Manowar, they are a traditional heavy metal band that you either love or hate. I think they are a lot of fun to listen to, and leave me with a good, optimistic feeling

why does everyone ****ing love Iron Maiden? What is so great about them? they are in my opinion the most overrated band on the planet...

NWOBHM... they're not overrated, they are pioneers of metal and still doing it. Classic and Iconic tunes, one killer mascot and a huge library of official releases to their credit.
