Honestly it took me until very recently tto realize how common place breakdowns were. I never played an instrument or was in a band so I always kind of confused some of the drumming for guitar playing or vice versa, thinking they were more talented than they really were.
Ive said this before, but I don't base my fondness for a band solely based on how much talent they have, if I did I wouldn't like A Day To Remember as much as I do. I lot of post/metalcore bands can right some really catching songs when they put their minds to it (ADTR comes to mind again, they may not be the most talented band ever, but they just know how to... errr... improvise I guess you could say. They just know how to use what they can to make a good song)
