So between heavy metal and metalcore, you'd choose like, folk or something?

Actually I was just saying I prefer chicken, I wasn't speaking metaphorically :P.

I understand why some metalcore, like BMTH and Attack Attack are hated but then again there is heavy metal like this

Iron Maiden - Run To The Hills - YouTube

Van Halen - Jump (HQ music video) - YouTube

Ok, it's not as bad as Attack Attack but isn't that far away either. They just look, sound and move ridiculous. And that's actually "respected" "heavy" metal. There is Nu Metal heavier than that and I(and most people for that matter) wouldn't even classify Nu Metal as metal.

Who's bashing anyone? I'm bashing music that I don't like. This being MusicBanter I imagine that that is encouraged.

Heaviness isn't the issue. Much of melodic metalcore is just dull, not out of a lack of heaviness but because it's a pale imitation of thrash/melodic metal/hardcore/etc. I used to like Trivium, but now I could care less. The guitar wants to be aggressive, but it's really just stale. The vocals wish they had any kind of emotion, but Heafy's screaming is just kind of there because that's what you do when you play metalcore.

I just like metalcore because I like the way it sounds. i enjoy a good berakdown. I like the clean vocals. I LOVE the double bass pedal action. I just like close to everything about it.
