Have listened to nearly all the albums that were recommended and got to say the metalcore suff (Converge, Botch and early Norma Jean etc) is far better than the melodic metalcore material in terms of quality. Still haven`t changed my overall opinion about melodic metalcore sounding like a watered down version of the Swedish death metal scene infused with a bit of punk...but even then there are some decent albums.

Best band without a doubt though are Between the Buried and Me and all their releases are quality and really like "Alaska" but "Colors" what an album!!! It now goes down for me as one of the best albums of the 00's.
