There are a lot of garbage acts out there. But to say that metalcore in general is bad seems silly to me. It could be said for any genre that all the bands sound the same. When I look at something like thrash I see a lot of the same songs repackaged over and over within bands. Between different bands the style varies, but only to a certain extent. The same appears in metalcore. If bands were completely different there would be no such thing as a genre/subgenre and no way to classify music. Also, a genre shouldn't be judged by its fans. If I judged thrash by its fans I would probably murder myself. If I had a nickel for every time I saw a closed-minded, "true metal", thrash fan bash every other possible genre in existence...
And for what purpose exactly? What could be further contributed to thrash, while still keeping it thrash? I think a lot of people like to bash new stuff because they think it will make them look like they have more knowledge or something. The fact that you can distinguish between metalcore and other types of metal shows that it has done SOMETHING to stand out. It doesn't need to prove itself. It has created a distinguishable form of music that some people enjoy. The other genres aren't going anywhere, so if you don't like it, listen to something else.
In case you haven't noticed yet, thrash metal fans irk me the most

This was not directed towards hip hop bunny, it was just directed at everyone I guess
