Honestly, A Day To Remember has always been a favorite of mine. Defintely not my all time favorite (that spot is held my Dream Theater), but they definitely one of the more listened to bands on my ipod. A lot of my friends appreciate them too, as well as classic metal bands. Even the music teacher at my school likes them. (I know that doesn't say much, but liking ADTR doesn't automatically make me a "scene ***")

I have A Day to Remember CD. I used to listen to it a fair bit when I was younger. They're actually quite capable of conjuring up a catchy chorus and aren't nearly as bad as a lot of the bands they get lumped in with.
I'd go as far to say they are actually pretty decent, at least their earlier material. As others have said, listen to you want, it's not up to what others think. Listen to what you like. However, I predict if you stick around and look to expand on what you already like, within a year you won't be listening to metalcore any more. Tastes change. You likely like these bands because as a young teen you feel you can relate to them. Do you think you'll be listening to Asking Alexandria when you're 30 years old with two kids? I might jam to some A Day To Remember later to give a more informed opinion, it's been a while. Just checked my CD rack, For Those Who Have Heart is the album I own. |

Have you heard Bring Me the Horizon's new album? It's supposed to be really good. I quite liked err.. the one with the long title about Heaven and Hell, can't remember exactly what it was called.
That Rise Against song makes you feel that way? I know the one, my brother likes the band. I have an album that perfectly encapsulates that feeling. Have you got winrar installed on your computer, I'll send you a link so you can give it a listen. |
