Intriguing, I will have to check them out. I listened to Endzeit and liked what I heard

TDEP probably has had the biggest influence on prog-metalcore as you will hear a lot of mathcore guitar riffs in this music. TDEP's most complex album is "Calculating Infinitey", the most accessible is "Ire Works".

I would have to disagree, I'd say their most accessible is, by far, Option Paralysis. Ire Works has some pretty easygoing stuff, yes, but it also flirts with a lot of weird industrial and glitch sounds. Option Paralysis has lots of pop moments too, but with cleaner production and more structure. Ire Works is the better album, imo, though. Slightly.

^I felt over all Option's had a harder edge. We can agree Ire Works is a bit more satisfying. The last song on Option Paralysis, "Parasitic Twins" made me very concerned because it's all pop, with none of their zanyness. I hope they don't continue in that direction, but if they did decide to make a commercial "Sgt Pepper" type album, I'm sure it be a huge commercial success for them.

And I'm glad you enjoyed Ascendancy, whilst Shogun is easily Trivium's best release, Ascendancy makes a close second :)

I didn`t enjoy Parkway Drive though, sounds like an inferior Killswitch Engage (Jesse Leach era) but will plough away with the rest of your suggestions though.

What albums by Parkway did you listen to?

Could just be a matter of taste. I like KSE less and less everyday, with Alive or Just Breathing remaining my only beacon of hope for them. I like Parkway Drive a lot better personally. I don't know which album you listened to, but I would have recommended Deep Blue.

Deep Blue is great, but I recommended Horizons to him because I think it's where Parkway really broke into their own.

I listened to Horizons but given that they`ve only recorded 3 albums I wasn`t exactly spoilt for choice.;)

From a purely objective standpoint (even though I like this band a lot), I'd say Deep Blue is leaps and bounds ahead of the other two albums. They didn't have Adam D from Killswitch produce it, and it shows. There are little nuances here and there that really spice up the whole metalcore formula. Another thing that I noticed after listening the fist time is how much heavier (albeit a little slower, but that's cool) the guitar tone was. Hope you're not burned out on Parkway yet, because Deep Blue is a can't miss!

Horizons is the worst of the 3 IMO
