Perhaps your native language is Spanish? Given that Cata is a Spanish word! Either way, both Thrash and Bach are written the same

If you`re Norwegian your English should be perfect, in fact better than most Brits.

Well, I consider my english to be more than sufficient, but I might not choose the correct words or context due to the fact that I don't speak/write english every day.

Not the worst guess!

And yeah, a lot of brits write english like a bunch of retarded three year olds.

So any thoughts on the genre?

It's a worthless amalgamation of various trends, plated to the same boring loud-soft dynamic that made Nu Metal (among other genres) forgetable, repetitive, and annoying. That the bands have a veneer of novelty does not mean they are innovative; they've yet to contribute anything substantive to the broader genres from which they borrow aesthetics.

The 80s had **** rock. The 90s had nu-metal. The '00s had metalcore. This is the progression of degenerate pop music whose faux masculinity is a selling point for the target demographic. The genre seems to owe more to marketing than any sort of genuine artistic movement.

I mean, look at how metalcore fans on this board act; 'hiya guys, I want a band that sounds like (insert series of seemingly random acronyms), but without too much bree and lyrical themes like this and aesthetics like this..."

Truly, the most remarkable thing about this subgenre is how fast it collapsed on itself.

There are a lot of garbage acts out there. But to say that metalcore in general is bad seems silly to me. It could be said for any genre that all the bands sound the same. When I look at something like thrash I see a lot of the same songs repackaged over and over within bands. Between different bands the style varies, but only to a certain extent. The same appears in metalcore. If bands were completely different there would be no such thing as a genre/subgenre and no way to classify music. Also, a genre shouldn't be judged by its fans. If I judged thrash by its fans I would probably murder myself. If I had a nickel for every time I saw a closed-minded, "true metal", thrash fan bash every other possible genre in existence...
And for what purpose exactly? What could be further contributed to thrash, while still keeping it thrash? I think a lot of people like to bash new stuff because they think it will make them look like they have more knowledge or something. The fact that you can distinguish between metalcore and other types of metal shows that it has done SOMETHING to stand out. It doesn't need to prove itself. It has created a distinguishable form of music that some people enjoy. The other genres aren't going anywhere, so if you don't like it, listen to something else.
In case you haven't noticed yet, thrash metal fans irk me the most

This was not directed towards hip hop bunny, it was just directed at everyone I guess

The comparison to 80's glam and 90's nu metal is really an insult to bands like Protest the Hero, BTBAM, and Dillinger Escape Plan that really are some of the most technically accomplished bands in modern music. Not to mention Winston McCall from Parkway Drive's vocals could hang with any death metal vocalist i've heard. Also, any metal fan should take a listen to Alive or Just Breathing, the first release from Killswitch Engage with their original singer Jesse Leach. Metalcore haters might think twice about dismissing the genre after running through that record.

It certainly hasn't held up as well as late 80's gangsta rap.
