Virtually the same Chord Progression with simple melodies, simple rhythm and lyrics that make little back no sense. As for you Rez have you ever played an instrument? Becuase you said you wanted to take up guitar and if you haven't as for all of you what would you know about the greatist guitarist if you don't play it or a similar instrument. Most people I know take Kurt to be one of the worst guitarists of all time, and in fact if you look at comments on the Rolling Stones list of guitarists if it wasn't about slash not being on the list it was about Kurt Cobain being on the list. As for ProggyMan saying Jimi Hendrix wrote more relative to his material. One word Mozart. And if you mean guitarists Paganini invented all of our techniques. Hammerons and Pulloffs, Tapping, sweeping arppegios. You name it and you can trace it back to Steve Hackett who got it from paganini.
I can trace rhythm back to cavemen.

I would say, That 'Kurt Cobain' is the greatest guitarist for, Putting a whole lot of power, distortion, effects, etc. Nothing, no less than (NOISE). (LOUD NOISE), Into some type of order of consistancency, in the matter of playing original music. His guitar leads, were as awkward & confusing, as Cobain was himself. Not to mention, the best of drugs to help, to whatever he was trying to say? I would of liked, to jam & party with this dude (Cobain). Just remember, keep it simple. And (Noise! Is music. / (J. Hendrix) Would be my first pick. Was the best ever, able to put his heart & soul into his guitar (Himself), He was the guitar. Even without all the technology, compared as today. Just imagine what , he could of done, had he lived. / Stevie Ray Vaughn - Would be my 2nd. pick. because he is influenced by Hendrix, And because he is Stevie Ray Vaughn. Sounds like he is playing two guitars at the same time, with his rythms & leads. Outstanding, when playing guitar. (SRV).

I like Kurt, Nirvana has greatly influenced me. But he should not be on this list.
