Most bands don't have good bassits that's why people are mistaken into thinking that bass isnt important but, a good bassist makes a world of difference.

Bassists along with the Drummer are the backbone behind a band, if they do their job, their good enough.... Though a virtuoso wouldn't hurt either.

Good enough isn't anything to scream about. Yea most do their job but to me good is being atleast slightly above the average.
