Only Kashmir would turn this thread into a "who has a better **** argument."

There is no oral to be given, the fact is that no one blinds themselves to everything except one genre like they do with clasic rock.

The need to indentify with classic rock seems to be a terminal disease. And I feel bad for these people, I mean, no classic rock band makes good msuic any more, and all the music you hate keeps growing. Sorta like hell isn't it.

And while I still find it gross that people will hide under the covers of "well its all subjective anyway", we should focus on the real subject of stop trying to make sure you're listening to the right music.

trying to make sure I'm listening to the right music has no bearing whatsoever in what I listen to. It did when I was a misguided little punk and listened to rap 24/7 trying to be a badass and fit in and be cool and all. Now that I listen to mostly Classic Rock most peers my age look at me weird and think its strange and everything, but I listen to what sounds good to me nowadays, and Classic rock does just that. I'm sorry that modern music for the most part, there are exceptions of course, just doesnt appeal much at all to me. Another factor in this is that about 3 years ago I got a guitar starter pack for a christmas present, and have been playin since then and obviously rap has no guitar worth a **** to listen to, and modern music lacks for the most part those great riffs, solos, and progressions that are so important to my playing. Don't worry, I have moved on from the starter guitar I got, I hated that POS squire strat cheap ass thing, I thoroughly enjoyed bashing it and moving on to my much cherished les paul (the epi version, I'm not made of money enought to get a gibson)...

yes we're all very aware that you used to listen to rap and then became born again in classic rock. It wasn't an impressive story to begin with, please stop telling it. You repeat stories more than any elderly member of my family.

I'm a classic rock junkie, and I love a lot of modern music. I see what you mean though, most classic rockers think it's cool to shun everything else without putting foward any consideration at all.

Not really though, as people like bungalowbill say that I generalize the whole genre of rap by listening to 1 song, or that I never give rap a chance because I don't listen to it. I am trying to say that I have heard a hell of a lot of rap in my time, and have came to the conclusion that I don't like it anymore...

Actually I got born into newer rock music to be specific. I got into Tantric, Days of the new, the foo fighters, RHCP, Rage, Nirvana, Soundgarden, hell even a couple of nickelback tracks I thought were good at the time. The fact of the matter is I used to be totally devoted to rap music, and now am the same to rock music, esp. classic rock. I have been on both ends of the spectrum, and I have to say the grass is greener on this side of the fence...

I would say that Lose Yourself is as good if not better than most Classic Rock.
I can also speak from both ends of the spectrum seeing as how my music collection ranges from The Beatles and The Doors to KRS-One and The Beastie Boys.
I've heard a billion Classic Rock songs
I've heard a billion rap songs
It is ridiculous to dismiss an ENTIRE genre. That is why everyone yelled at you. That and the fact that you are an idiot...

EDIT: I think that Big3 made an exceptional point when he said that the music you like will never grow. while the music you hate gets larger everyday
