Slipknot
The worst thing to grace the metal scene. Corey's vocals sound like a pig struggling with a hemroid for his poor excuse for grunting. I used to like these guys and that was only because they were one of the first "metal" bands I was exposed to, but when I started going into deeper stuff these guys were nothing there vocals there "melodies" all horrible. I was bored one day and looked up the guitar tabs for some of there songs and there painfully simplistic. These are a bunch of amateures. It doesn't take 9 people to make this kind of music 4 tops. Insane Clown Posse Can't stand these guys. Rapping about being in a circus and throwing in a couple of dark themes to come off as "badass". It's pretty lame, the vocals are awful. I have a theory that anyone who associates themselves with a band by a verb to show there loyalty to a group or band almost always sucks. Why would anyone want to be known as a juggalo or in slipknots case a maggot. WTF!? |

Hooooly ****! Seltzer, I've never thought about looking for their videos. They are almost as funny as their shows. DDD But you know what is really scary? The number of their fans. It's amazing how people fall in love with this band. There are thousands and thousands of them all around Europe and these people seem to take Sabaton serious.

RE: Philadelphia's music scene about 7 pages back
I really like Free Energy's debut from earlier this year...

Assuming we can rationally attack things with a reason, I'll say this:
All things have creative value. This doesn't mean all forms of music should be appreciated, that's a matter of opinion. However, if something has been brought into being, it has creative value. Just because music is simple or untechnical doesn't mean it's necessarily bad. That's your taste against others'. Slipknot's guitar riffs are simple? Okay. But that's part of the theory. They wanted to make that. So, stop griping about it. Now, the only band I can say anything about knowledgeably is Blink182. Travis Barker isn't exactly what I'd call a drumming role model, as killing your set isn't considered good drumming in too many situations. Insane Clown Posse is just silly. |
