Yeah, I personally think Korn are a decent band, I think it's unfair to constantly lump them with groups like Limp Bizkit, Disturbed, Crazy Town and what not, even if they had a huge influence on these groups and the rising popularity of the nu metal genre.
I mean, Van Halen led to hair metal, but that doesn't keep me from thinking they were awesome. Nay I say. |

Korn gets a lot of crap mostly because it is really really easy to give them crap in the first place. I spin their debut from time to time still just because it is really raw and I feel like Jonathan Davis's vocals are at their most emotionally intense. But seriously...their name is Korn. Every album is more and more of how much JD's life sucks. Head found Jesus. They should really stop now.

I don't like Nickelback. I don't enjoy the lead singer's (Chad, I think)
voice, it's too hoarse and it's just unpleasant to listen to. The song's lyrics are too "generic" for my taste, although I am guilty of listening to some crap. I just don't feel as if there's a "soul" in the band, but again this is all my opinion. |

I think its ridiculous that Korn are even being suggested in this thread! They`re largely responsible for creating a genre and its no fault of theirs that a multitude of crap followed. I think their first album is a metal classic and Follow the Leader a very good album also, probably the only two albums that somebody need own, as for the rest of them, they`re much of a muchness really but Jonathan Davis`s voice is always compelling to listen to.

I don't mind Korn, it's just, Jonathans voice gets on my nerves sometimes. I do love songs like "Shoots & Ladders," "Freak On A Leash," and "Coming Undone" but my friends used to listen to these guys a lot and they would hail songs like "Twist," "Wake Up," and "Y'all Want A Single" as musical brilliance. Whenever we'd be in the same car together, I'd say, "Guess what guys? I brought my Soundgarden/Pearl Jam CD with me!" and they'd say "Screw that! We've got the new Korn album to listen to!" And I would be greeted by songs like "Twist."
They're not a horrible band, but I really don't care for them. |
