i dunno. dylan's voice is good for his songs. they work with his voice; it's distinct and defining of him, IMO. I think his voice is great for his more blues-type songs, like on Blood on the Tracks. it gives the songs a better feel to them. this all IMO, of course. you can not like his voice, to each his own.

I love dylans voice, although it is one of the crappiest voices in music's histroy. Bob dylan would not be Bob Dylan without that classic voice. Although his voice does not sound good at all nowadays, I was bummed when I saw him last summer, it was all rhaspy and he mumbles bad live.

This will be sacralige for most here, but I feel the same way about the beatles, wrote good songs, but it seems everyone else covers their songs much better.

Aerosmith - Come together
Owsley - Band on the run
Joe ****er - With a little help from my friends

Way better than the beatles did it.

Are you kidding me? I know its just a matter of opinion but all 3 of those covers don't come close. Do you know how much easier it is to cover a song, than to actually come up with the whole song and lyrics from scratch. It is rare I hear a cover and like it better than the original, SRV-little wing is one of those rare occasions for me...

Why is it easier? None of those songs were done the exact same way as the original. Would you explain that?

If you can't grasp this then there's really no point in explaining it but oh well here I go...
These bands/artists that have basically remade these songs in the style of their bands playing already have the whole original song laid out in front of them, lyrics, chords, progressions and all. Hell, the songs are already popular so they know if they even do a halfway decent cover people are gonna like it, because it sort of revives an older halfway dead song. If you can't see how its easier to write a song from scratch than to look at the already written out song and put your take one it, then you're helpless...

Listen you little ****, For most of the time alex and bill went ape **** on your ass, I ignored it because honestly I didn't think you were that bad, and I guess I was wrong.

You have never, not in any post I've read, even considered the other possibilities, you just charge headlong with your ignorant opinion and frankly I havn't seen anything here where you've progressed the debate other than people having to step out of argument and say "cut the ****". All you do is come here and tell us you like Zeppelin and the **** around in every other post.

yes, Im well aware that other peoples versions being better are opinoin, I don't know anyone who doesn't know that, when you deal with "adults" you assume obvious things are a given. but reinterpertation, when you change the music format, tempo, arrangement, add multiple singers doing diffrent part, then yes ******* it is hard, I didn'y say they were on par for their cover but I did say I think the finished product was better, I didn't say they were better, I didn't say it was just as hard, I said the finished product was better.

No on here has ever managed to be so counterproductive and not get banned, I don't know why, but honestly, please leave your house and lay on train tracks, you might be the most abhorrent case of egotistical meglomania I've seen on these boards. I don't think I speak alone when I say, Just. Please. Leave.

Kind of hypocritical, if you read this post its not all so productive is it. I have never blantantly called someone so many names and told them to practically kill themselves because they had a difference in opinion...
