Caught a bit of their show in between Beck and Radiohead, didn't really grab me. They're better in studio.

Has anyone listened to that song The Lengths off of Rubber Factory?

Beautiful...simply beautiful. <3

The way Dan sings it....and the melody....it really hit me hard.
Its my new favorite song by them.

This is a band that I like, but want to like more. It's good just not great for me.

If you're posting in the music forums make sure to be thoughtful and expressive, if you're posting in the lounge ask yourself "is this something that adds to the conversation?" It's important to remember that a lot of people use each thread. You're probably not as funny or clever as you think, I know I'm not.

The Black Keys worked in reverse for me. I loved them instantly and was pretty impressed right off the bat..but they've kind of lost their charm since then.

No, I liked Attack & Release, I'm saying their sound got old after awhile, probably because it wasn't a challenge for me to like their music.

The Black Keys are amazing. Great blues/hard rock riffs. To me, it sounds like a mix of Hendrix and Zeppelin, heavily coated with blues roots. I wish I could have seen them live back when they were touring with The Black Angels. That would have been kick ass, no doubt about it...

it should never be a challenge to like music. music isn't there for you to test your intelligence and this is where too many alleged "intellectuals" go wrong. I am not going to spend hours trying to "understand" **** music (to me that is Radiohead, no offense) when I can be rocking out to stuff like the Black Keys.

If you have to make an effort to like it, its probably not that good.
